Chivalry’s Nectar is a project I undertook in my spare time in a bid to do more of this sort of packaging design. I wanted to create a fictional alcohol brand that specialised in traditional drinks used by Samurai, Knights and Vikings. Saké was a drink used in Japan by Samurai, it has fermented ingredients like and is brewed like beer and has a higher alcohol content like liquor. Spiced wine was used by higher class citizens in medieval times, such as knights and kings. Mead is an alcoholic beverage made by fermenting honey and water and is one of the oldest alcoholic drinks in the world, enjoyed by the likes of Vikings .
CHIVALRY’S NECTAR
I branded the fictional brand based on the old brews and created packaging designs for three flavours. Seppukku Saké, a creamy sweet vanilla and honey. Dragon’s Blood, a warm and rich spiced wine flavoured with hibiscus and cinnamon. Berserkers Brew, a traditional mead flavoured with elderflower and peach. Chivalry’s Nectar prides themselves on using only the best ingredients sourced from relevant areas to give a luxurious and historically focused taste and feel to the brand.
